Danny Akin: Creeds, Deeds and the Great Commission-Founders Breakfast 2009

It was a great privilege to have Dr. Danny Akin, President of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, speak at our Founders Breakfast last week in Louisville. God has raised up Dr. Akin to give strategic and principled leadership to Southern Baptists at this crucial juncture of our history. Pray for him and the seminary he leads.

His message from 3 John was at the breakfast was one of the highlights at a Southern Baptist Convention that had an unusually high number of them this year. Listen and be challenged and encouraged.

Is this talk available as audio for download? I'd love to listen to it, but it's much easier to find that time while driving or exercising . . .

Coty:

Unfortunately, Dr. Akin's talk did not get recorded in a separate audio file.

It was indeed a wonderful message that Dr. Akin brought to us that morning. I was happy I could be there. I believe history was made last week.

Coty, It takes a few steps, but I snag the video via clipnabber.com and load it onto my ipod to have it on the go.

I was really enjoying his message and then all the sudden the video just stopped with what looked like a still photo of Dr. Akin, no talking, but the timer at the bottom of the screen was still going. Did something go loopy with the video or might there be a problem with my computer?

I keep getting a problem at about 37 minutes on the video - is it just me?

Is the video available anywhere else? It is 2100hrs on 30 Jun and Vimeo shows the video as deleted.

Sorry about the technical difficulties. We are working to get a new edition uploaded as quickly as possible.

The glitch in the video is fixed. Thanks to Tim Brister for helping us get it right.

Amen and Amen. The message and the Q and A from Danny Akin really encouraged me tonight. Thank you for posting and then fixing the link. I wish that session would have been before the entire convention.

The lecture by Dr. Akin was a bit scary to me. His cautions were actually scary for many reasons, though I will list only one. He asked Reformed people not to over react to things like easy believism. Easy believism is simply another gospel. Perhaps there is a way to over react to the false gospel, but surely an appropriate reaction must be in line with what Paul says in Galatians 1:6-10 where we are more concerned about pleasing God in those situations rather than men.

We still cannot hear Dr. Akins message. Any ideas?
