These church planters have been screened and approved by the North American Mission Board as well as the Missouri Baptist Convention. Because of their affiliation with Acts 29, their promised funding is being cut. If you would like to assist those church planters during this time of unanticipated shortfall, you can send a check made out to:
St. Louis Metro Baptist AssociationThis is a great opportunity. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Lord stirred up the hearts of individuals and churches to more than make up the deficit that these cuts will entail? I will be contributing and I encourage others to do so as well.

Any chance a list of those churches will be published?
My friend, Kevin Larson, is doing a tremendous job with his church start, Karis (http://www.karischurch.org), in the heart of Columbia, MO.
I hope he's included in this. He would be well-worth praying for and supporting.
Tom,
Thanks for offering this opportunity. I appreciate you adding some common sense to this debate.
Eric,
The two affected churches are in fact Karis in Columbia and Believers Church in Hannibal MO pastored by Sam Byers...(www.bchannibal.com)
Those are the two actually will be losing funds at the turn of the year...
Read the latest.

It should be noted that although those churches are all Missouri Acts 29 churches, only two of those will be affected with loss of funding. To answer your question, Karis is one of them.
Mike Hubbard of Genesis Church in Eureka MO also loses $1,000 a month as does Sam Byers. Kevin loses $500 per month.

Hi there.
What is Acts 29 and why is there a controversy over it?
Thanks.
Tom: Thanks for providing an excellent Q and A, informative story on this subject. This is why so many of us are disillusioned with some our state baptist newspapers. Furthermore, if the Georgia state paper had not raised some serious questions about the NAMB and their leadership, we would still be uniformed. So, again, thanks for your information. Praying that many will respond and support some of our brothers in need...
