Timmy Brister announces TG4: Band of Bloggers

Timmy Brister has just announced a meeting that he is putting together for bloggers. It will take place in conjunction with the Together for the Gospel Conference coming up in Louisville later this month. It looks like it will be a great opportunity to meet and fellowship around the Gospel. He is asking all those who desire to attend to email gospelcentral@yahoo.com and provide your name, blog title, and a contact number, so that proper plans can be made for the meeting. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the conference but I look forward to reading reports from those who are there.

...so it will be taking place in Louisville along with the conference?

David,

It is not exactly in conjunction with the conference, meaning that it is not formally under the umbrella of the conference coordinators; however, the intention of this fellowship is congruent with the goal of the conference - to rally around the gospel. This fellowship in particular is for bloggers attending the conference to come together, meet, fellowship, and discuss the gospel and what is going on in our lives.

The fellowship will take place starting at 3:00 p.m. on the day of registration (Wednesday) which begins earlier that afternoon, so the conference will not have actually started. The fellowship will also be held in the Heritage Hall of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary which is located about 8 miles from the Galt House.

There are more details which I would like to share but cannot at this moment because they have not been finalized. If you have any questions, comments, or would like to let us know that you are attending, please email to gospelcentral@yahoo.com and give your name, blog title, and a contact number.

If anyone is interested in plugging the announcement on your blog, feel free to do so. JPEG's and more information can be found on my blog (see link in Tom's post).

Thanks Timmy!

Now...Are you aware of the mail-out by Don Cass (Director of Evangelism) of the SBTC to all SBTC Pastors in Texas (one that purports to help pastors fight against this "C-word [Calvinism]" by grossly misrepresenting the same in a sermon by Dr. Roy Fish, as well as drawing a parallel between "Calvinism" & "Universalism" as being equally dangerous)?

No matter where you are from, this should be a hot topic to write on.

EVERY ONE of you (from Texas...or not) should be writing Dr. Jim Richards, to help us Texas pastor's protest this.

The issue here isn't the ignorance of this person on the subject matter, but that HE should be addressing it at all, & on SBTC letterhead and with money from the same.

You gotta get a copy of this, Tom.

Now REMEMBER...Speak the truth in Love!
